I love your description for the scenery--even fleshed out in simple sentences like that I felt I was walking with you to the ballroom, following your course, which is a beautiful thing to do as a writer with the reader. It adds a new effect and relationship for the essay.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to connect to your heritage and remember your grandparents. I find it interesting how participating in activities like dance can remind us of many past events. Can't wait to read the finished product
ReplyDeleteI think it would be really cool to expound on your cousins dancing in luau- what was that experience like? Are you closer now? I also like how you said it makes you think about growing up- pulling on the nostalgia would be compelling. I agree with Emily that your descriptions are great and I look forward to seeing more of them!
